First official look at Ryan Gosling in The Place Beyond The Pines

Ryan Gosling looks set to do for red leather jackets and peroxide blond locks what he did for scorpion jackets and toothpicks in Drive, if this official image from The Place Beyond The Pines is anything to go by.The film, from Blue Valentine director Derek Cianfrance, sees Gosling revving up as a motorcycle stunt-rider turned bank robber.Gosling is joined by a hell of a cast, including Bradley Cooper, Rose Byrne and Eva Mendes.Here's the full image of Gosling, in all his garishly styled glory:The official plot synopsis from production company Sierra Affinity goes as follows: "Luke (Gosling) is a professional motorcycle rider who turns to bank robberies to support his newborn son, but when he crosses paths with a rookie police officer (Cooper) their violent confrontation spirals into a tense generational fued."The Place Beyond The Pines is a rich dramatic thriller that traces the intersecting lives of fathers and sons, cops and robbers, heroes and villain."Seeing as Cianfrance has previously said of Pines, "I've had people tell me they feel like its The Deer Hunter meets The Godfather", we're filing this one under 'Can't Frickin' Wait!'The Place Beyond The Pines is in post-production, and is expected to open in 2013.
